The Rules of Declaring a Fight: Eligibility and Timing
To initiate a Fight, a player must have at least one exposed meld on the table, must not have been Sapawed during the preceding round, and must believe their remaining hand points are lower than both opponents. You can only declare a Fight at the beginning of your turn before drawing from the stock deck.
Evaluating Risk vs Reward: The Danger of Getting 'Supalpal'
Calling a Fight carries asymmetric financial risk. If your deadwood totals 12 points and you call Fight, but an opponent holds 10 points, you are 'Supalpal'. The challenger pays the winner double the pot amount, plus an additional penalty fee to the third innocent bystander. Only call Fight when your deadwood is below 15 points.
Drawing the Game Out to Deck Exhaustion
When hand values are evenly matched, allowing the central draw deck to exhaust naturally is frequently safer than risking a premature Fight. When the final card is drawn, all players reveal their hands, and the lowest score takes the pot without punitive challenger multiplier penalties.
